DeVito will enter transfer portal
Quarterback Tommy DeVito, who started 18 games for the Orange over four seasons, has decided to transfer. DeVito took to Twitter to deliver a heartfelt farewell to Syracuse:

DeVito made his last start against Albany on Sept. 18. Garrett Shrader started the second half of that game as planned, but impressed enough to get elevated to starter the following week against Liberty. Shraderâs dual-threat ability allowed him to hold onto the starting job.
DeVito finishes his Syracuse career with passing numbers of 3,866 yards, 28 TDs and 12 INTs.
Orange picked seventh in ACC; Buddy makes first team All-Conference
The Orange menâs basketball team was picked to finish seventh in the ACC preseason poll, as voted by the media.
Senior guard Buddy Boeheim was named to the preseason All-ACC First Team after averaging 17.8 points for the Orange last year. Boeheim was also named to the 2022 Jerry West Award watch list, which is given annually to the nationâs best shooting guard.
The Orange menâs and womenâs teams are set to preview their upcoming seasons at the Orange Tip-Off on Saturday at the Dome. The menâs team will hold a scrimmage and both squads will have skills competitions. The event is free to fans but tickets must be claimed in advance.
Orange football keeps rolling in individual awards
Running back Sean Tucker and defensive lineman Cody Roscoe were named to the Associated Press midseason All-American team.
Tucker was named ACC RB of the Week for the second consecutive time after rushing for 157 yards against a stout Clemson defense on Friday.
Tucker was also named to The Athleticâs midseason All-American Second Team. He continues to pile up impressive stats, tying a school record with five-straight 100-yard rushing games.

Following the Clemson game, Tucker ranked first in the country with 1,172 total all-purpose yards and second with 948 rushing yards.
Roscoe leads the ACC with 7.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. His sack total is also tops among Power Five conference players.
Defensive back Darian âDuceâ Chestnut also earned midseason recognition. He was named to The Athleticâs midseason Freshman All-American team. Chestnutâs two INTs and four pass breakups lead the Orange defense.
Maliq Brown chooses the Orange
Three-star power forward Maliq Brown announced his decision to play for Syracuse on Saturday.

Brown was also considering Georgetown, North Carolina State, Penn State and Virginia Tech before he decided to join Jim Boeheim and the Orange. Standing at 6â9â, Brown plays for the Blue Ridge School in Saint George, Virginia, near Charlottesville.
De Vries selected to U.S. World Junior Cup team
Junior field hockey forward Charlotte de Vries was named to the U.S. roster for the Womenâs FIH Hockey Junior World Cup.
De Vries has six goals and two assists for the sixth-ranked Orange this season. The world championship will take place in December in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
