Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who sustained a hit and went into cardiac arrest last month in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, attended Syracuse men’s basketball game against Duke this past weekend.

After it was announced at the game that Hamlin was in attendance, the crowd erupted in support of Hamlin and his incredible journey over this year.

Syracuse softball goes 1-3 at Big Ten/ACC Challenge

SU women’s softball struggled at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge this past weekend, going 0-3 in their first three games, including getting shutout in half of their four contests.

The team stayed resilient though, winning their final game of the tournament 11-4 against Iowa. Four players tallied multiple hits in the game including second base sophomore Kelly Breen, who had a three-run blast in the third inning.

The Orange ended the weekend 0-2 against Purdue and 1-1 versus Iowa.

Next up on the team’s plate is the Low Country Classic in Charleston, South Carolina, where the group will play three different opponents — Robert Morris, College of Charleston and Rutgers.

SU women’s tennis stays undefeated

Syracuse women’s tennis remains undefeated on the season, improving their record to 7-0 after defeating Boston College 4-3 on Saturday.

The team is now only three wins away from tying their win record in a season, and they’ll look to make it two when they play Florida State Friday in Syracuse.

Men’s lacrosse suffers first loss of the season to Maryland

SU men’s lacrosse suffered their first loss of the season Saturday, losing to the defending national champion Maryland 15-12 in College Park, Maryland. While the Orange outscored the Terrapins in the final two quarters, their 9-5 deficit after two was too much for them to overcome.

Nine players scored a goal for the Orange, including freshman phenom Joey Spallina, who had an absurd goal, behind the back, no-look that caught the internet by storm.

Next up for Gary Gait and company is a matchup against North Carolina Saturday at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Syracuse basketball lands seven foot big man recruit

Syracuse men’s basketball secured their first recruit from the class of 2023 this past week, 7’2″ big William Patterson.

Patterson, from Brooklyn, New York, has a nice opportunity to compete with freshman big Peter Carey, who is out for the year due to injury, for the starting spot that will possibly be open next year due to senior center Jesse Edwards graduating.

While Patterson is the only recruit for the class of 2023, he presumably will join a litany of young talent that the Orange currently have including freshmen Justin Taylor, Maliq Brown, and Chris Bell.
