World Wrestling Entertainment returns to Syracuse on Sunday with WWE Live, a stacked show that is looking to keep the crowd on their feet and their jaws on the floor.

One man who stays off his feet is the highflyer Montez Ford, a former tag-team champion with his partner and real-life best friend, Angelo Dawkins. Together they form the Street Profits, an electrifying combination that brings eye-popping athleticism and earth-shattering power.

Ford came to the WWE Performance Center after spending time in the United States Marine Corps. Ford, who soars when he leaps off the top rope, credits his high school track and military experience with helping him develop the explosion he utilizes to wow millions of fans.

“So, I did predominantly sports growing up. (There) were a lot of explosive sports, basketball, football and track were my main ones,” Ford said. “Even in the Marines, you must learn how to go from zero to 100 in half a second.”

Ford competed in this year’s WrestleMania — his first with fans in attendance and his second overall — as the Street Profits took on Raw Tag-Team Champions RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) and the Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) in a triple threat match. Though he lost the match and RK-Bro retained the title, Ford accomplished a lifelong goal.

“Just the atmosphere, just being at WrestleMania itself to me is like the childhood dream,” Ford said. “I’m glad I was able to do it and witness it in front of a great audience. I’m still coming off the buzz of it because you prepare for it the entire year.”

Ford not only plans to come to Syracuse with his best friend but also his wife, fellow superstar and current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The couple wed in 2018 and continue to bond together as they travel for shows.

“We can go to these new cities, and we see these national artifacts and turn some of these things into little, mini, half-a-day vacations,” Ford said. “Seeing things that we always see on the internet, it’s cool and that’s always good to do before we go to a show. It makes it easy because you know how it is being away from a loved one.”

Ford is excited to bring his infectious swagger to the OnCenter on Sunday. He said, without a doubt, this weekend’s show will have “high energy, hype matches and all of the smoke.”

With a stacked card featuring Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Belair and the Street Profits, it’s set to be a night Syracuse won’t soon forget.
