Anxious to escape monochrome winter fashion? Neons and bold black and white stripes are around the corner.

If you're like me, you are extremely impatient for warmer weather and sunny skies to start appearing. Along with better weather, I can't wait to ditch my unflattering black parka in exchange for jackets, sandals and t-shirts. It seems as thought the fashion world has heard my pleas for happier clothes, and it has responded by tossing in every bright, intense color imaginable in a storm of pinks, greens, reds and blues, and it's also throwing in some bold black and white stripes to the mix. Welcome to Spring 2013 ladies (and gentlemen, I suppose).

The third annual Syracuse Style fashion show showcased Syracuse's growing fashion scene, and plans to keep getting bigger and better.

Syracuse is not New York City, but that doesn't mean its residents can't have a "fashion's night out." But these days, “fashion's night out” is less about “fashion” and more about the “night out,” and that was the case in Armory Square on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Syracuse students dressed to impress, prepare for the weather and show off their individual styles for the inaugural day of the fall semester.

Many Syracuse University students, returning or new, planned ahead to make their fashionable debut for the coming academic year.

Syracuse is still hot and humid, so some students opted for tanktops and shorts. Many chose bright, even shocking colors to catch others' attention or combat the greyness of the day's weather. Bold prints, color blocking and oversized accessories were also a favorite.

A new exhibition from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) pairs original Arts and Crafts Movement furnishings, with an emphasis on those designed by Gustav Stickley, with clothing worn by American women during 1909-1913.

The cooler weather has revived the favorite fall accessory.

Gone are the days you can walk out of the house showing off your bare arms and legs. Now that it’s getting chillier and fall is officially here, our new best friend and fashion accessory, the scarf, can come out of hibernation.

A scarf adds that needed “oomph” to someone’s outfit. Boutique employees in Syracuse and Syracuse University students tend to think so too. Some Girls Boutique on Marshall Street has a section just for scarves.

The lingerie maker's new collection brings financial ruin to one addicted blogger.

Last week, Victoria's Secret unveiled its new "Gorgeous" brassiere and fragrance collection, which has since been aggressively promoted on TV and in my email account. In the last month, I've received 19 emails from Victoria's Secret.
