Hip-hop artist SahBabii to headline University Union's Bandersnatch concert
This Monday, University Union announced that Atlanta-based hip hop artist, SahBabii, will headline this year’s Bandersnatch Concert with support from rappers Valee and Melii. The event is known to bring a wide range of up-and-coming artists to the university, with past performers including X Ambassadors, Anderson .Paak and Russ.
The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the Goldstein Auditorium. Tickets will be available at 11 a.m. on Oct. 29.
SahBabii, a 22-year-old hip hop artist, gained notoriety after his hit song “Pull Up Wit Ah Stick,” went viral last year. Wiz Khalifa, Fetty Wap and T-Pain have all remixed the track from his S.A.N.D.A.S. mixtape, which earned him 50 million plays on YouTube and led to SahBabii’s placement at number eight on Billboard’s Next Big Soundchart. He is currently touring the world promoting his newest release, a full-length album entitled Squidtastic.
Supporting act Valee is a soft-spoken rapper hailing from Chicago. Last October, he was signed to Kanye West’s label, G.O.O.D. Music, and made his debut with a six-track mixtape called GOOD Job, You Found Me. His most recent single, “Womp Womp,” is an R&B track that released in May and features artist Jeremih. The song currently has over 10 million streams on Spotify.
Bandersnatch’s opener, Melii, is a Harlem-based artist who sings, raps and writes her own tracks. The 20-year-old began her career posting music online before her remix of Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” propelled her into the mainstream. Last December, she signed a record deal with Interscope. The success of her single “No Simple Chick” set the stage for 2018 to be her defining year, and she is now working on her debut project, entitled Phases.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Oct. 29 and can be purchased by students with a valid college I.D. for $5 at the box office in the Schine Student Center or online for $10. Tickets are $10 for faculty and staff and $15 for the general public. You must be at least 18 years old to attend and provide a SU/ESF ID or another valid form of ID for entry.
