The Orange played Notre Dame on the road and Virginia Tech at home in a week that some them go up the AP poll.

After going 1-1 on the week, which entailed their first road-ranked win during head coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s tenure, Syracuse women’s basketball moved up to No. 21 in the latest Top 25 Poll released by the Associated Press. This marks the second straight week that the Orange have been ranked by the AP.

The week saw the Orange top No. 15 Notre Dame on the road, before losing its perfect home record against No. 19 Virginia Tech.

The results also saw the team slip by one spot at USA Today’s poll.

Syracuse begins a two-game road trip on Thursday. The squad will play No. 16 Louisville and then head to Boston for a matinee matchup against BC on Sunday.

Thorogood makes school history

Syracuse track and field athlete Trei Thorogood made school history this past weekend at the Bob Pollack Invitational, as he set a new record for the 200-meter dash.

His 21.05 time beat Syracuse alum Jaquon Holland’s 2013 time by just 0.04 seconds. Thorogood has now set two records this season and has tied the school record twice in the 60-meter dash.

Thorogood’s 200-meter dash was the fifth-best time at the meet.
