Sports SUmmary: Women’s LAX dips from No. 1 ranking

After losing to Boston College last week, Syracuse women’s lacrosse dropped to Inside Lacrosse’s No. 2 team in the country, the first time in six weeks the squad didn’t hold the top spot.
With its 17-16 loss last week, the Orange ends the regular season 15-1, a remarkable record that included tying the program’s longest win streak.
In the second round of the ACC Tournament, Syracuse will play Virginia Tech in Charlotte, North Carolina at 4 p.m. Wednesday. During the regular season, the Hokies went 10-8 and in their regular season matchup against Syracuse, the Orange dominated them, defeating them 16-5 on March 5.

Syracuse men’s lacrosse suffers loss to Virginia
Coming off of two straight victories against ACC foes, Syracuse men’s lacrosse was outmatched 19-12 on Saturday, losing to No.3 Virginia for the team’s sixth loss of the season.
After the Cavaliers maintained 7-2 after the first quarter, the lead was never relinquished.
Now 8-6 on the year, their 15th and final game of the regular season comes Saturday against No. 2 Duke in Durham, North Carolina at noon.

Syracuse tennis loses to Georgia Tech in ACC Tournament
Syracuse women’s tennis suffered a 4-0 defeat to Georgia Tech Thursday, eliminating them from the ACC Tournament. After starting the year 9-0, the team has lost nine straight games, including multiple by five scores.
