Live from Syracuse: it's DanceWorks
DanceWorks held its spring showcase on Friday and Saturday in Goldstein Auditorium. The show, “DanceWorks: Live from New York,” was designed to mimic the popular television show, Saturday Night Live, which is filmed live each week in New York City.
Family, friends and community members packed into Goldstein Auditorium both evenings to support the dance troupe. “DanceWorks: Live from New York” was split into two acts to showcase the 20 dance numbers, which were each choreographed by student members of DanceWorks.
Before each number, they showed a few clips from the rehearsals of each dance over the year, and introduced the dance’s choreographers, who greeted the audience and explained the dance’s theme. In total, 23 student choreographers produced the 20 dance numbers presented at the show this past weekend.
