ESPN reported the Indianapolis Colts have told Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck that they will take him with the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Ozzie Guillen will sit out five games for his remarks about Fidel Castro

The Miami Marlins announced today that manager Ozzie Guillen will be suspended for five games for comments showing admiration and respect for Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Ozzie Guillen is in his first year managing the Marlins after managing the Chicago White Sox for eight years. 

Guillen stirred tremendous controversy when he told Time Magazine a few days ago that he respected Castro for being able to lead Cuba for a long period of time. Also, this is a controversial issue because there is a very strong Latin population in the Miami area.

This year, the Great American Race is making history. This year’s Daytona 500 will be the first weeknight, prime-time race ever in NASCAR. According to Yahoo!, the Daytona 500 is scheduled to wave the green flag at 7 p.m. ET, under the lights of the track. The race was originally scheduled to start at one on Sunday. However, weather conditions prevented the race to ever begin.

After being fired for an offensive headline on Jeremy Lin, Anthony Federico apologizes

The ESPN writer who was fired after writing an offensive headline about New York Knick’s star point guard Jeremy Lin called it “an honest mistake” on Monday, according to CNN.

Anthony Federico released an apology for writing the headline “Chink in the Armor: Jeremy Lin’s 9 Turnovers cost Knicks in Streak-stopping Loss to Hornets,” CNN reports.  

The New York Times says Lin is of Chinese descent and his parents are Taiwanese.
