Sean Tucker runs all over the Great Danes
Freshman running back Sean Tucker was the star for Syracuse football on Saturday, scoring five touchdowns in the team’s 62-24 victory over Albany.

Tucker’s endzone output was one short of the school record six TDs, which Hall of Famer Jim Brown set against Colgate in 1956. Floyd Little (1964) and Walter Reyes (2003) also scored five TDs in a game for the Orange.
Tucker was able to set one school mark, however, as he became the first SU player to have 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in the same game.
SU Volleyball wins Hail State Invitational
The volleyball team defeated South Alabama three sets to one to win the Hail State Invitational on Sunday. The Mississippi State Bulldogs hosted the invitational in Starkville, Mississippi.
Senior Polina Shemanova took home tournament MVP honors and fellow senior Elena Karakasi landed a spot on the all-tournament team. Coach Leonid Yelin’s squad is now 11-1 and will open ACC play at Boston College Wednesday, Sept. 22.
SU Field Hockey upsets No. 3 Boston College
The 14th-ranked Orange field hockey team took down third-ranked Boston College on Friday, 3-1.
Charlotte de Vries, Florine van Boetzelaer and Quirine Comans each had a goal for the Orange. Brooke Borzymowski had four saves to limit Boston College to just one score.
Senior SJ Quigley was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against the Eagles.
SU Lacrosse will hold Alumni Classic on Sept. 25
The Orange Alumni Classic will take place at the Dome on Saturday, Sept. 25 after missing the 2020 edition because of COVID-19.
The alumni game will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the SU men’s lacrosse team scrimmage at 3 p.m. Tickets are available for $10. All fans attending must adhere to Syracuse University’s COVID-19 policies.
SU legend Larry Csonka was not happy about his beloved Dolphins’ performance
Hall of Fame fullback Larry Csonka took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the Miami Dolphins’ 35-0 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Csonka played at Syracuse from 1965 to 1967. He went on to win two Super Bowls with the Miami Dolphins, which included a 17-0 season in 1972.
Does Carmelo liken David Stern to the Feds?
Carmelo Anthony, who is set to begin his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers this fall, recently appeared on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.
Anthony promoted his book, “Where Tomorrows Aren’t Promised”. He also provided an interesting anecdote about former NBA commissioner David Stern during the show.
