Cuse football completes incredible comeback

Syracuse football trailed the Hokies 36-27 with 5:25 left in the fourth quarter on Saturday. The Orange rallied to defeat Virginia Tech 41-36 on this 45-yard connection from Garrett Shrader to Damien Alford.

The win snapped a three-game losing skid and was SU’s fifth straight game decided by less than a touchdown. The team now prepares for Homecoming on Saturday against the Boston College Eagles. At 4-4, the Orange need to win at least two of their last four contests to become bowl-eligible.

Bunch picks the Orange

The Orange men’s basketball team added to its stacked recruiting class with the commitment of 6’7” forward Chris Bunch.

Bunch is a senior at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He has garnered top-100 rankings from multiple recruiting services, including ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports.

Syracuse now has five players in its 2022 class: Bunch, guards Justin Taylor and Quadir Copeland, forward Maliq Brown and center Peter Carey.

DiGirolamo wins top defenseman award again

Ice hockey captain Jessica DiGirolamo was awarded the College Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for the second consecutive time.

DiGirolamo scored the game winning goal in the Orange’s 3-1 win vs. Lindenwood on Friday. Overall, DiGirolamo had two goals and one assist across two games as the Orange split the weekend series against Lindenwood.

Men’s rowing crews have strong performance

The Orange men’s rowing team had fifth and seventh-place finishes at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday.

Rowing along the Charles River in Massachusetts, the Orange’s Championship 8+ crew took fifth place in their race, with Washington coming in first.

Syracuse’s Championship 4+ crew finished seventh overall, and were fifth among college crews in the race. Crews from USTC-Oakland held the top two spots.

Orange Volleyball defeats Clemson in straight sets

The Syracuse volleyball team swept Clemson on Sunday, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-19.

Junior middle blocker Marina Markova led the Orange with 13 kills, six blocks and two aces. The Orange improved to 15-7 and 4-6 in the ACC.
