Sports SUmmary: SU ice hockey and field hockey earn weekly awards after successful weekends.

Wake Forest v Syracuse
Men’s basketball recruits visited SU this past weekend as they look to potentially join a squad that includes sophomore guard Quadir Copeland, shown here at this year’s ACC tournament.

After giving class of 2025 forward Matt Gilhool an offer in August when he performed well in elite camp, Syracuse men’s basketball hosted the recruit for an official visit this past weekend.

Gilhool attended the Syracuse-Clemson game, where he got to see the Orange’s passionate fanbase on display. He also spoke with current members of the Syracuse men’s basketball team at practice.

In an interview with All Syracuse FN, Gilhool highlighted SU’s facilities and atmosphere as factors that make him place the school among his top options.

The Orange remain a top choice for the junior forward as he heads into the latter half of his high school career.

Alongside Gilhool, Syracuse hosted forward Donnie Freeman and guard Derek Dixon.
