The Syracuse softball team celebrates after beating Duke 1-0 at the Skytop Softball Stadium on April 23, 2022.

After a strong performance, Syracuse softball won their first ACC game of the season, defeating Notre Dame 5-3 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday. Freshmen Trinity Nichols and Lauren Vaugh both had their first career RBIs in the victory.

Junior left-handed pitcher Lindsey Hendrix recorded a shutout in the second game before it was called due to rain.

After the first 26 contests on the road, the team will have their home-opener on Friday against Louisville, who they’ll be hosting through the weekend in a three-game clash. The team is 10-15-1 and will be looking to protect their stomping grounds.

Men’s lacrosse defeats Hobart, now on a three-game win streak

Syracuse men’s lacrosse defeated Hobart over the weekend, 18-7 for their sixth victory of the season and their third straight win. Ten different players had goals for the Orange, including four from freshman attack Joey Spallina.

After a difficult stretch in the schedule, the team is starting to find their stride, and it’s resulting in victories.

The team prepares to face No. 3 Notre Dame on Saturday for Senior Day at the JMA Wireless Dome, giving them ample opportunity to prepare for the team without having to travel. The matchup is the team’s final regular season match at home.
