Syracuse football was well represented during this year’s NFL Draft. Starting with former Orange offensive tackle Matthew Bergeron being selected 38th overall by the Atlanta Falcons. The highest Orange selection since Justin Pugh in 2013, Bergeron was a two-time All-ACC selection during his time at Syracuse.

Defensive back Garrett Williams was also selected during last week’s draft, getting picked 72nd by the Arizona Cardinals. With Williams drafted, four of the team’s 2020 week 1 starters are now on NFL teams.

After all seven rounds, former Syracuse running back Sean Tucker was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as a few Orange were signed or invited by NFL teams to be a part of their teams.

Star Orange point guard Dyaisha Fair was invited to the United States Women’s AmeriCup Trials squad, announced on Thursday by USA Basketball. She’s one of only 22 players to participate in tryouts that will take place May 11 and conclude on May 15.

Fair led all Orange scorers last year in points per game with 19.9. She also was named a WBCA Coaches All-American Honorable Mention honoree, was named to the All-ACC First Team and All-Defensive Team.

Coming off of a 20-13 season for Syracuse, Fair will try to show USA basketball what she’s got and continue to work on her game for her fifth and final collegiate season.
