Both Orange soccer teams are striding through the season with winning records.
The Orange (7-1) defeated Cornell 3-0 Sunday, marking its sixth consecutive win which is tied for program history.
Forward Chelsea Domond leads Syracuse in assists (3) on the season and tied for goals (4) with forward Erin Flurey, one of each earned from Sunday’s match. Flurey has helped the Orange in tight games, ranking five in the conference in game winning goals (3). The defense has also carried its weight, holding opponents from scoring with four shutouts.
The Orange face No. 3 Duke at SU Soccer Stadium Friday at 7 p.m.
The men’s team (5-0-1) earned its third consecutive win Tuesday night against Niagara 1-0.
Forward Levonte Johnson scored the game’s lone goal in the 12th minute assisted by forward Nathan Opoku. For the rest of the game, Syracuse defenders were able to limit the Purple Eagles to just 5 shots and no corner kicks.
The Orange hit the road to play the undefeated, tough Clemson Tigers Friday at 7 p.m.
Matthew Bergeron earns ACC offensive player of the week
Syracuse captain and offensive lineman Matthew Bergeron earned a spot on the ACC week two football honorees list. He played 65 snaps and recorded five knockdown blocks in last weekend’s crushing 48-14 win against UConn.
Two Orange players earned weekly ACC honors for SU’s season-opening win over Louisville: running back Sean Tucker and linebacker Marlowe Wax.

Four Syracuse LAX players drafted
Two current and two past Syracuse lacrosse players were selected Saturday in the National Lacrosse Leagues Entry Draft.
Graduate student transfer Alex Simmons was chosen as the fourth overall pick by the Albany Firewolves. In the second round, 2022 graduate Jerry Staats was taken 29th overall by the Halifax Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds also picked up graduate student transfer Cole Kirst in the third round with the 55th overall. On the next pick, the Toronto Rock drafted 2022 graduate Tucker Dordevic.

Syracuse basketball releases full 2022-23 schedule
Syracuse men’s basketball finalized its 2022-23 season schedule with an ACC slate that includes home matchups with Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame.
SU opens ACC play on Dec. 3 against Notre Dame in South Bend, while the Fighting Irish return Jan. 14 to play in the JMA Wireless Dome.
North Carolina will head to Syracuse on Jan. 24 to play the Orange. The always highly anticipated SU-Duke showdown to the Dome — this first without legendary coach Michael Krzyzewski — will take place Feb. 18. Duke made it to Final Four last season while UNC lost to Kansas in the national title game.
Syracuse’s other ACC home games include Pittsburgh (Dec. 20), Boston College (Dec. 30 or 31), Virginia Tech (Jan. 11), Virginia (Jan. 30), NC State (Feb. 14), Georgia Tech (Feb. 28) and Wake Forest (March 4).
