Syracuse men’s lacrosse picked up a crucial victory Saturday, defeating then-No. 12 North Carolina 15-14. This marks SU’s second ranked win this season.

The game came down to the wire with freshman midfielder Michael Leo scoring the game winner with 12 seconds remaining on the clock. Nine players scored a goal in the contest, including midfielder Cole Kist, who had a hat trick.

The Orange are now 8-5 and have picked up two straight victories, both on the road. Syracuse has only two games left in their regular season, both against ACC foes.

Syracuse tennis gets No. 7 seed in ACC tourney

After a year full of ups and downs, Syracuse tennis will go into the ACC Tournament as the No. 7 seed in the conference. In their first matchup of the tournament, they will face the 10th seed Georgia Tech, in a matchup that will be played Thursday in Cary, North Carolina at 12:30 p.m.

Georgia Tech and Syracuse faced off earlier in the year, where the Yellow Jackets got the upperhand, defeating the Orange 6-1. But, Syracuse’s most recent ACC Tournament victory came against Georgia Tech back in 2019.

The winner of the contest will face No. 2 seed Duke at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

Syracuse slated to host The Basketball Tournament Regional

For the fourth time ever, Syracuse will be hosting regional games for the The Basketball Tournament, a 64-team tournament. Boeheim’s Army, the team full of Syracuse alumni, will be the host team for the games, which will take place at Upstate Medical Arena at the Oncenter War Memorial from July 24-28.

Boeheim’s Army has been a part of the tournament since 2015 and during that time has gone 22-7 in their seven years. In 2021, they won their first TBT championship, which won them the $1 million prize.
