Despite outshooting the Dolphins 28-5, the Orange never could find the back of the net.
An historic attendance day for the Syracuse University Men’s Soccer team, who came up short, 1-0 after the unranked Dolphins of Le Moyne College took advantage on an early mistake.

Syracuse men’s soccer ranked No. 7 in the nation heading into Monday’s night game. Attendance for Monday’s game was the sixth highest at SU Soccer Stadium since 1996. After a confident start to the season winning both exhibitions, winning two and tieing one regular games, the Cuse’ lost their first game this year.
On the stat sheet, the domination by the orange was clear, outshooting the dolphins by 23 shots and taking 10 corners. Frustration this game became a factor for both teams, combining for a game total 27 fouls.
Pressure from Syracuse throughout the second half gave them 17 chances at goal, but the Orange only had eight shots on goal for the entire game. Despite having multiple opportunities to score, the Orange could not get that lucky break.
Next up, the men look to gain back their confidence on the road Friday night against the Eagles of Boston College.
