Syracuse women's LAX wins convincingly against Maryland

The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team took on No. 2 Maryland Friday in the JMA Wireless Dome.
Once the Orange took the opening 1-0 lead, they never looked back in the game and would never trail.
At the end of the first period, Syracuse led the Terrapins 6-5. From that point on, it was all Orange control. Syracuse dominated in the second period outscoring Maryland 5-1. Going into halftime, ‘Cuse had a five-point lead.
The Orange ended up winning comfortably by a score of 20-11. Meaghan Tyrrell steamrolled Maryland, leading the Orange in the scoring department with six goals and five assists. Not far behind Tyrrell was Megan Carney, who finished the game with four goals.
Just like against then-No. 4 Northwestern last week, Delaney Sweitzer was impressive in goal finishing with a career-high 13 saves.
The Orange outdueled Maryland when it came to assists. SU moved the ball much more efficiently than Maryland, with 11 assists compared to just three from the Terrapins.
Syracuse is now 2-0 on the season and will host the Binghamton Bearcats (1-1) on Monday at 4 p.m.
