Buchanan called the game “a dream come true” after making his debut against Salernitana.

Former men’s soccer forward Tajon Buchanan made his debut with Italian side Inter Milan in the club’s 4-0 win over Salernitana. The forward replaced Alessandro Bastoni 77 minutes into the match last Friday.

Buchanan called the game “a dream come true” postgame, before adding that he will continue to play in the positions the team needs from him in order to help them win.

Inter is widely expected to finish the season as the best team in Italy and has a nine-point lead over the second-placed Juventus in the Serie A standings.

Buchanan represented the Orange two seasons, where he racked up 12 goals in 33 appearances. He earned All-ACC First Team, All-ACC Third Team, All-ECAC First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team honors.

Men’s lacrosse keeps Top 10 spots

Despite a devastating overtime loss, Syracuse men’s lacrosse remained in the top 10 in the polls this week. The Orange dropped to 3-1 after losing to No. 4 Maryland 13-12 on Saturday.

The squad is now No. 8 in the USILA Coaches Poll, No. 6 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, and No. 9 in the USA Lacrosse Division I Top 20.

The top four spots in the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Polls remain unchanged. Ten of the Orange’s 2024 opponents were named in the USILA Top 20 this week.

Syracuse hosts Utah on Wednesday for a matinee at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Syracuse tennis stays perfect at home

After defeating Massachusetts 4-0 on Sunday at Drumlins Country Club, Syracuse women’s tennis improved to 6-0 on the year at home.

Both doubles and singles events came down to the waning moments, but the Orange clutched up when they needed to, keeping their record at home only filled with victories.

The squad will look to keep the winning ways going when they face Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m., and on Sunday at 11 a.m., when they face Georgia Tech.
