Syracuse linebacker Zaire Franklin was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Franklin, a three-year captain under former coach Scott Shafer and current coach Dino Babers, was the 235th pick.
He led by example on defense as he was a two-time all-ACC selection. He had 311 tackles over four seasons, which is the most since 2006.
Franklin is the first Syracuse player drafted since punter Riley Dixon was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2016. He was the 228th pick.
Dixon is now on the New York Giants, who traded for him on April 23.
