The Orange returned to the Carrier Dome Thursday night looking to extend a three-game home winning streak. But the familiar confines didn’t provide much help to Syracuse as Georgia Tech dominated the ACC match to win 82-64.

The Yellow Jackets strung together a series of runs throughout the game that the Orange were never able to match. Syracuse’s only had the lead for the first 2 minutes of the opening quarter.

The loss overshadowed a milestone night for Gabrielle Cooper as the senior guard’s four points helped her reach 1,000 career points, becoming the 29th Orange to do so.

Off the court, the night’s ACC Network Extra broadcast earned attention for being the first-ever all female-led production hosted by SU alums Beth Mowins and Isis Young, who also is a former Orange player.

The Orange (8-8, 2-3 ACC) head to Pittsburgh Sunday to face the Panthers at noon.
