Syracuse University DanceWorks put on the first of two shows in its 2018 Spring Spectacular showcase in Goldstein Auditorium Friday night.

The performance featured two acts and 19 separate numbers in a range of styles including hip-hop, tap, lyrical and contemporary dance. Founded in 1986, DanceWorks is a fully student-run organization at SU that puts on two showcases throughout the year, among other community performances.

Numbers were choreographed by DanceWorks members to songs of their selection. Music this semester included songs from Usher, Aretha Franklin, the La La Land Soundtack, Katy Perry and more.

With the help of the DanceWorks’ 2017-2018 board, Director Nikki Cullinan and co-producers Jaime Creighton and Taylor Garlow organized a crowd-pleasing showcase with audience members cheering throughout for their favorite dancers.

The group will be putting on another performance of their 2018 Spring Spectacular Saturday night in Goldstein Auditorium at 8pm.
