Whether it’s music, film, photography or nearly any popular medium, everyone has an opinion when it comes to the world of arts and entertainment.

In our new podcast Cuse Curates, we’ll pick the brains of Syracuse University students and professors to find out their favorite artists within their field of expertise and explore how and why they made such an impression on our guests.

In the debut episode, host Anais Mejia joins a conversation between music industry and technologies associate teaching professor Todd Herreman and his student Alexa LaMalfa, a broadcast and digital journalism junior who is minoring in the music industry and technologies program.

Herreman and LaMalfa discuss what makes musicians stand out among the millions, what excites them about the music industry and several artist recommendations including their current and all-time favorites.

In the coming weeks, new episodes of Cuse Curates will be available to listen here on The NewsHouse and through the Spotify streaming service and app.

The following is a Spotify playlist that curates songs and artists mentioned by Herreman and LaMalfa along with a few of their favorite songs and musicians including Taylor Swift, Noah Kahn, and Joni Mitchell.
