Welcome back to Reel Talk! For three weeks, we’ve been discussing all things Academy Awards. We broke down the categories, placed our predictions and discussed the Oscars buzz. Now, our time has come to discuss the film lovers’ version of the Super Bowl: the Oscars ceremony.

The Oscars Sunday returned to the Dolby Theatre after last year’s pared-down event, and it returned with a bang (and three hosts). We try to make sense of the shocking Will Smith/Chris Rock moment, discuss “CODA“‘s last-minute sprint to winning best picture and share which Oscar moments brought us joy. And don’t worry, we do bring up “Dune” (winner of six technical awards) and Andrew Garfield (winner of our hearts and GIF-able red carpet happy dances). It wouldn’t be an episode of Reel Talk if we didn’t.
