‘Cuse Can’ event featuring Tiffany Haddish, Pusha T and Flipp Dinero
'Cuse Can' to host Tiffany Haddish, Pusha T and Flipp Dinero
On April 6, Emmy Award-winning comedian Tiffany Haddish and recording artists Pusha T and Flipp Dinero will perform at the Goldstein Auditorium for a day-long event “Cuse Can! It Starts With Us,” University Union announced on Wednesday night. All event proceeds will benefit the Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry and Hillside Children’s Center.
The event is sponsored by UU, The National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Student Association. The goal is to engage students in a conversation about community differences and implement social change.
‘Cuse Can’ will begin with Haddish’s stand-up act at 1:45 p.m. followed by two separate discussion panels, “What We Need To Be Talking About” at 4:15 p.m. and “Just Up The Block” at 5:15 p.m., at Watson Theater. Pusha T and Flipp Dinero will finish off the celebration at 8:15 p.m. back in Goldstein.
University Union is offering an opportunity for students who are interested in meeting Haddish in-person. The student organization will be accepting donations of new or gently-used backpacks or suitcases for the local Elmcrest Children’s Center. The first 100 students who donate will be selected for a meet-and-greet with Haddish following her performance at Cuse Can.
As the first black female stand-up comedian to host Saturday Night Live, Haddish made history in 2017 and earned a 2018 Emmy Award for “Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.” She’s an NYT Best-Selling author for her memoir The Last Black Unicorn. On television, she’s starring in two upcoming films, Limited Partners and The Kitchen.
Flipp Dinero, hailing from Brooklyn, is an exciting artist on the rise known for his breakout hit Leave Me Alone. Flipp has been co-signed by Drake, Kim Kardashian, Odell Beckham Jr., DJ Khaled and more. Longtime rapper Pusha T’s latest masterpiece Daytona debuted #1 on both the Billboard Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop charts last year.
