We the Students podcast: Public education

Syracuse students discuss how a Trump presidency could impact schools and students in America.

We the Students podcast continues to explore the strong sentiments throughout Syracuse University’s campus following the 2024 presidential election.

This podcast serves as an outlet for SU students to share their perspectives on the aftermath of the election as we look towards the next four years under a new, yet familiar, presidency.

In this episode, We the Students dives into the state of public education in America with on-the-ground perspectives from education majors Morgan Meddings and Rosemary McNulty, who each have experience with student teaching.

Originally recorded on Nov. 20, we discuss reactions to the election inside and outside the classroom and what the future holds for public education in America, especially with Trump’s recent nomination of Linda McMahon to be the next secretary of the Department of Education.
