We the Students podcast: LGBTQ+ in America
In our first episode, SU students discuss the ramifications of an incoming Trump administration on LGBTQ+ rights, freedoms and political safety.
Following the 2024 presidential election, there was a strong sense of tension throughout Syracuse University’s campus. No matter what side they were on, students undoubtedly had a lot on their minds.
In response to this, the We the Students podcast serves as an outlet for SU students to share their perspectives on the aftermath of the election as we look towards the next four years under a new, yet familiar, Presidency.
In this first episode, originally recorded on Nov. 20, we discuss what it feels like to be an LGBTQ+ student in America with an incoming Trump administration that could threaten legal, social, and political rights and protections for the community.
From discussing how the election results could impact LGBTQ+ safety on and off campus to the potential political ramifications facing the community in this upcoming administration, We the Students dives into the LGBTQ+ student perspective following the 2024 Presidential election.
