Wednesday’s scorcher outside didn’t deter dozens of registered student organizations from trying to recruit new members at the annual Student Involvement Fair on the quad.

While temperatures soared above 90 during the early afternoon, RSO members manned tables covered in banners, posters and balloons to tout how their groups contribute to the Syracuse University community. As students passed by, they were often enticed to stop with candy and other freebies in exchange for a signature on a sign-up sheet or a follow on a social media page.

The tables were largely grouped by organization type, with film, performance and dance troupes along the same path, political student orgs and social justice groups side by side, and club sports and fitness groups close to each other.
