Thousands joined the university's newest graduates in the Carrier Dome for diplomas, speakers and celebrations.

Thousands of family members and friends descended upon the Carrier Dome on Sunday, May 13, to cheer on Syracuse University’s newest alum at the school’s 164th Commencement ceremony. History-making SU alum Kathrine Switzer known for breaking the gender barrier as an official runner in the 1967 Boston Marathon, served as keynote speaker. More than 6,600 degrees were awarded to bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and associate’s degree candidates this year.
