SU students share their thoughts on this year’s Block Party lineup
Orange Pulse data reveals mixed feelings about the 2025 Block Party lineup of Latto and Role Model.

With Block Party just a couple of weeks away, SU students are talking about this year’s headliners, Latto and Role Model. Some are ecstatic, while others are upset and somewhat frustrated, while others continue to wonder, “Who are they?”
More than 50 students participated in our Orange Pulse survey, which revealed that opinions on campus regarding the 2025 lineup are divided. More than 60% of respondents expressed that they adore the Latto and Role Model combination, while others responded, “It’s okay” or “It could be better.” A few students opted for another option: “Who are they?”
“Latto is a queen and Role Model is so underrated,” one respondent said, adding that it’s an absolute dream to see Role Model perform live. Following the excitement, another student exclaimed, “YAY LATTO!”
Not everyone is sold, though. About 15% of students acknowledged that they had never heard either artist before. Although approximately 85% of respondents have heard of either artist, not all of them plan on attending.
The majority of students, 64.6%, said in the survey that they intend to attend this year’s Block Party. Yet, not all students are on board. 12.5% are still unsure and 22.9% stated they wouldn’t be going at all. Although a reasonable number of people plan to attend the event, the combined 35.4% who are either unsure or opting out suggests that there may be a divide in enthusiasm, which could be caused by the lineup itself.
Despite the varying opinions, over 50% of those surveyed stated that they either intend to go to Block Party or are at least thinking about going.
When asked about their dream Block Party lineup, respondents threw around many different names of artists and bands. The common theme? Everybody has their ideal headlining act.
Stars including Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, as well as indie favorites like Clairo, Beabadoobee and The Japanese House were among the performers that students had in mind for their dream shows. The 1975 was also mentioned.
One student wrote, with dramatic emphasis, “PLZ PLZ PLZ CLAIRO,” saying, “I’ll do anything for Clairo.” Clearly, the SU alumni is heavily favored among students.
Others opted for a rock and throwback vibe, including Fleetwood Mac and Green Day. One student mentioned Blood Orange, while another added they would be thrilled to see Bruno Mars or DJO. Overall, the genres varied, with suggestions like Sabrina Carpenter, John Summit, Noah Kahan, Baby Keem and Tyler Childers.
Regardless of whether students choose to attend or not, Block Party is still one of SU’s most notable events, and the students that do end up going will relish in the opportunity to yell those Latto and Role Model lyrics in front of their peers in the Dome.
In the words of one student: “I love it. Can’t wait.”
