Syracuse gets off to a fast start, pulls away from 49ers to extend Dome winning streak.

Syracuse University (9-0) poured on the points from the opening whistle, leading to an 84-53 SU win over Long Beach State (3-5) on Thursday night. Five players scored double figures for the Orange, with C.J. Fair leading the way with 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

No. 4 Syracuse forces 24 turnovers to counter a slow start against the Eagles and remain undefeated on the year.

Syracuse started out a bit flat against Eastern Michigan at the Carrier Dome on Monday, but forced many turnovers throughout the game and cruised to an 84-48 victory. The rout was on after coach Jim Boeheim switched to a full-court press in the first half.

The Orange renew their Big East rivalry vs. West Virginia in hopes of going 2-0 under Doug Marrone in bowl games

The Syracuse Orange are bowl-bound. They will make their second trip in three years to the Bronx, NY at Yankee Stadium in the Pinstripe bowl on Dec. 29

The Orange played in the inaugural Pinstripe bowl when they defeated Kansas State 36-34 in a last-second thriller. This year, their opponent will be former Big East foe West Virginia, who moved to the Big 12 after last season. After starting out 5-0 with Geno Smith at the helm and a frontrunner forhe Heisman trophey, the Mountaineers dropped their next five to finish the year 7-5.

In the "Battle of the Midway," the Orange basketball team, driven by C.J. Fair and Brandon Triche, stifled the the Aztecs in the first game of the season.

It wasn't asthetically pleasing, but the Orange will gladly take the 62-49 win over San Diego State on Sunday afternoon. After being moved from Friday afternoon due to inclement weather, playing on the USS Midway was an experience that all the players and coaches cherished. Here are three of my thoughts on the outcome of the game:

Jordan Page propels the Orange to their second straight Final Four appearance with two goals against Penn State.

The No. 5 Syracuse Orange is headed to the Final Four after defeating the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions 5-2 Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Jordan Page scored twice to lead the Orange in the NCAA quarterfinals. The Orange did not trail for any minute of the match against Penn State.

Freshman Gillian Pinder, graduate student Liz McInerney and senior Iona Holloway added the other three Orange goals.

After a loss to UConn, the Orange field hockey team looks to exact revenge against UMass in the first round of the NCAA Tournament

The Syracuse Orange field hockey team did not receive a top four seed in the NCAA tournament, and therefore will not play host to any games in the tournament.

After ousting Providence College 3-1, in the Big East semifinals, the Orange fell to the UConn Huskies, the team they had beaten 3-2 the weekend before for the regular season Big East championship, in the Big East Championship 4-3.

The Orange's record fell to 17-2, a half game worse than the Huskies' record of 18-2, which earned them the No. 3 seed, and home field advantage for the first two rounds of the tournament.

After SU earned a two-goal lead, the Irish scored four unanswered in the second half to snatch victory away from the Orange.

The Syracuse University men’s soccer team (12-6-0, 5-3-0 Big East) lost 4-2 to the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Saturday, Nov. 3.

The loss knocks Syracuse out of the Big East Tournament.

SU made its first Big East Tournament appearance since 2005.

The Cincinnati Bearcats (6-2, 2-1 Big East) pulled away in the second half to defeat Syracuse (4-5, 3-2 Big East) 35-24 on Saturday..

Home-field advantages play key roles in the success of a team throughout the course of the season.

Everybody knows about home field advantage and the boost that a ravenous fan base can give their team. In some places, however, that home field advantage turns from a minor factor in a team's winning equation to something that's downright terrifying for a visiting team.

Facing a 20-point deficit at halftime, Ryan Nassib connected with Alec Lemon to give Orange football a one-point victory on the road.

What Happened: Syracuse overcame a 20-point halftime deficit and edged South Florida 37-36 with a one-yard touchdown pass caught by Alec Lemon with just three seconds left in the game. Lemon’s touchdown capped the final drive where the Orange marched 75 yards in under two minutes. SU outscored USF 34-13 in the second half as Nassib connected on four touchdown passes.
