After weeks of hinting at the official announcement of a new fall concert, University Union finally revealed Monday the artist headlining Syracuse University's Dome Show concert.

It's time to hit up the thrift shops, SU students: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are performing at the Carrier Dome.

Review: The pop star performed many of her No. 1 hits at the Carrier Dome on Friday, with openers Drop City Yacht Club and Trey Songz.

Syracuse University’s annual Block Party is time for students to break loose, to quench their thirst with questionable beverages and say goodbye to a semester that's overstayed its welcome. In the process of achieving these three goals, things may get a little inappropriate. Thus, it was fitting that pop vocalist extraordinaire Madam Kesha Rose Sebert made a visit to SU to sing a few songs on this glorified collegiate holiday.

We asked a few SU students what they thought about Ke$ha's arrival on campus and the tradition of Block Party. Here's what they said.

Syracuse University’s Block Party concert is the last hurrah for the student body at the end of the academic year, right before finals week. It’s the students’ last chance to unwind before rushing to the closest library to study for exams and to tweak final projects.

This year, SU’s Univeristy Union welcomes platinum selling artist Ke$ha as the headlining act for Block Party 2013 on Friday April 26, with special guest Trey Songz. Ke$ha has dominated Billboard charts since 2009, with her debut single "Tik Tok" selling 12.8 million copies worldwide just in 2010.

April 16, 2013 - 12:01pm
UPDATE: Trey Songz and Drop City Yacht Club added to the lineup for the April 26 concert in the Carrier Dome with the auto-tuned pop star.

Is Syracuse University ready to get sleazy? Let's sure hope so.

Glitter-infused popstar Ke$ha will headline Syracuse University's annual year-end concert Block Party, joined by singer Trey Songz, the campus programming board University Union announced Tuesday.

April 7, 2013 - 10:03pm
The annual year-end celebration will also feature electronic band Sound Remedy, with a third act TBA.

Los Angeles rapper Earl Sweatshirt will headline this year's Mayfest in Walnut Park on April 26, with support from electronic band Sound Remedy and a third act TBA, University Union announced Sunday night via Twitter.

Earl Sweatshirt is a member of the hip-hop collective Odd Future. He's collaborated with Pharrell Williams, Mac Miller and Tyler, The Creator, and is set to release his second studio album Doris later this year.

The SNL head writer and comedian performed his own material, as well as some SNL favorites, in Goldstein Auditorium on Wednesday night.

A sold-out Goldstein Auditorium welcomed Saturday Night Live head writer Seth Meyers with uproarious applause on Wednesday night.

The laughs started immediately when he “mistakenly” greeted the crowd as Indiana University, Syracuse’s latest basketball rivalry in Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. Meyers then gave shout-outs to each class, spending extra time with the juniors, calling them “the dicks of every college campus.” Although he successfully insulted a portion of the audience, he was off to a great start.

Review: With openers Io Echo, indie rockers Jukebox the Ghost closed this semester's Bandersnatch shows on Tuesday.

University Union hosted indie rockers Jukebox the Ghost and Io Echo in the Schine Underground on Tuesday night for this semester's final show in the Bandersnatch Music series.

Despite a late start and a smaller crowd than other Bandersnatch shows have attracted, the show was an incredible experience for those who were a part of it.

Before Jukebox The Ghost took the stage, the crowd was warmed up by the grungier sound of IO Echo.

Vocalist/pianist Ben Thornewill talked to The NewsHouse in February about Czech bakeries, touring and new music.

“We always stop here on tour,” Thornewill says. “It’s just so doughy and good.”
