UK court rules against WikiLeaks editor

A British court ruled on Wednesday that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will be extradited to Sweden to face possible rape and other sexual assault charges. According to the New York Times, two of the most senior British judges declined all four of Assange's objections, increasing the probability he faces his accusers in Sweden.

Much of the United Kingdom celebrated the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton with large public parties, but some find the grandiose affair socially irresponsible.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and commoner Kate Middleton locked lips in marital bliss in front of billions on Friday, but not everyone in the United Kingdom was moved by the occasion. Although a large percentage of British citizens watched the wedding and celebrated in street parties throughout the UK, a much larger number of people watching from abroad engaged with the wedding as well.

Two United States airports were on high alert Friday after a suspicious package was found on a United Kingdom flight.

Cargo planes headed into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Newark, New Jersey airports Friday morning were inspected more closely, according to CNN. The two airports were on high alert after a suspicious package, which contained a "manipulated" toner cartridge, was discovered on a U.K. flight the night before.

The cartridge tested negative for explosive material, authorities said.

The eruption of the Icelandic volcano strengthened this afternoon.  After slowing down for the past few days, a new cloud of ash is now heading towards the United Kingdom.  This will once again threaten European air travel.  According to CNN.com, the volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, erupted a new cloud of ash 15,000 feet in the air.  This dashed the hopes of the travelers stranded on either side of the Atlantic.
