A truck bomb exploded in central Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital, this morning, killing 70 and wounding 42. The al-Shabab, a Somali militant group, has announced on its website that it is responsible for the attack, according to a report by USA Today.

Authorities say a former member of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula gave a key-tip off that led to the discovery the of two bombs that were sent from Yemen to the U.S, MSNBC reported. Sources say the tip-came came from Guantanamo detainee Jaber al-Faifi, who turned himself into Saudi Abarbian officials.
A bomb planted at a Sufi shrine in central Pakistan killed five people as a crowd gathered around 6:20 a.m. Monday for early morning prayers, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Police say the two men who allegedly planted the bomb were pretending to sell milk in front of the shrine. The bomb was planted in a milk can that was left on a motorcycle. The blast occurred soon after the two men left the scene.

Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahir are believed to be living comfortably in houses in Northwest Pakistan, rather than hiding in caves, according to an anonymous senior NATO official who spoke to CNN.

Najibullah Zazi, a suspected terrorist, pleads not guilty to charges of plotting to use weapons of mass destruction.
A terrorism suspect has pleaded not guilty.
Najibullah Zazi was charged with plotting to use weapons of mass destruction. Zazi faced a New York City judge Tuesday and has declared his innocence, says NPR.org.
The FBI arrested Zazi over a week ago after an ongoing investigation by U.S. intelligence officials. Officials had been tracking Zazi for months, looking to discover the intent of the weapons, as well as with whom Zazi was working, says NPR.org.
