SU holds off late Seton Hall charge to win its Big East opener.

The Orange, now 7-2 on the season, defeated the Seton Hall Pirates in their Big East opener tonight by a score of 1-0. Freshman midfielder Jordan Vale was able to get on the opposite end of a corner kick in the 26th minute to beat the Pirate goaltender for the only goal of the night.

Ochocinco, who played soccer up until high school, is taking advantage of the NFL's lockout.

Chad Ochocinco began his tryout today with Kansas City's Major-League Soccer team, according to ESPN.

Ochocinco, who fears the NFL season is in jeapordy, is participating in a four-day tryout with Sporting Kansas City. He spent most of the morning getting individual instruction from one of the team's assistant coaches.

Ochocinco is an avid soccer fan and is friends with many of the game's top players, such as Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Andy Samberg remembers the animal fondly.

The SNL cast member Andy Samberg told PEOPLE that he was deeply moved by the loss of Paul the Octopus.

"I'm greatly saddened by this news, but must quote Paul himself when he said, 'Mo' Money, Mo' Problems,'" Samberg said about the creature that was made famous last summer as it predicted the results at the World Cup soccer games. "In this case, the 'problem' is death."

Freshman Brittany Anghel was named Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance against Rutgers and Seton Hall.

Brittany Anghel, a freshman on the Syracuse Women's Soccer team, was named Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance this weekend an article on the Syracuse athletics website reports. After playing for 200 minutes in two games, Anghel did not allow a goal and had 14 saves.
