According to NewsTimes, a plane that crashed Monday into a snowy field in Siberia, killing 31 people, appears to have been improperly de-iced, but there was no indication that negligence caused the crash, Russia’s civil aviation chief said. Investigators said evidence so far suggests a technical failure as the cause.

Two crew members have been rescued after a fighter jet crashed in Libya.

A U.S. fighter jet went down in Libya after experiencing an equipment malfunction, according to CNN. However, crew members ejected safely and are now out of Libya and in U.S. hands said a senior defense official on Tuesday.

A pilot and weapons officer had flown an F-15E Strike Eagle from Aviano Air Base in Italy to Libya when the fighter experienced problems.

Two people died when their single-engine plane crashed in south central Wisconsin, according to The Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane crashed around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday about 15 miles southwest of Baraboo, according to FAA spokesperson Elizabeth Isham Cory.

A small plane crashed in Honduras this morning leaving no survivors.

A plane crash in Honduras killed the 12 passengers and two pilots aboard the flight; three were American. According to CNN, the small passenger aircraft flew into a mountain south of Honduras' capital this morning.  

The Honduran civil aviation department said the Central American Airways plane crashed at approximately 8 a.m.

A state Cuban airliner burst into flames after crashing into a mountainous area Thursday evening, killing 68 people, according to MSNBC.

The plane had declared an emergency and lost contact with air traffic controllers on Thursday, authorities said.

The plane, AeroCaribbean Flight 883, was traveling from Santiago de Cuba to the capital.

Searchers say there are no survivors in a small plane crash in Wyoming mountains.

Work began Tuesday to recover the bodies from the remains of a small plane that crashed in a Wyoming mountain range, according to the Associated Press. Searchers say there are no survivors of the crash that occurred over a week ago.

A search team found the plane late Monday about 11,000 feet up a steep mountainside in the Wind River Range, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Department said.

Two subway stations in Central Moscow were bombed during rush hour this morning by two female suicide bombers.   According to CNN, Russian investigators believe the Chechen rebels are behind the attacks.  Alexander Bortnikov of the Federal Security Service said that although the Chechen rebels have not taken responsibility, the preliminary findings show that the bombers were from the North Caucasus region.

Tops Market has announced its intentions to close four Penn Traffic supermarkets, according to The Post-Standard.

P&C Foods in Hornell, two BiLo stores in Pennsylvania and a P&C outlet in Vermont were the four stores to miss the cut. A spokesman for Tops Market cites economic vitality, store conditions and location as the three overriding factors which led to the closures.
