Slicin' it Syracuse style

For an unexpected twist on an American staple, local pizzerias offer a "Syracuse-style" pie.

Open up the piping hot box just delivered to your house and you may find a pizza cut into strips and squares instead of wedges.

The presentation may not be what most expect, but that is what makes it Syracuse's signature slice.

Following is an interview with with Dan Ross, owner of Twin Trees Too in Syracuse, and the Rochester Pizza Guy.

First impressions of Florence leave Popolo clinging to her pocket dictionary.

It sounded easy enough, I thought, as I dug my toes into the silky sand. The surf instructor smoothly demonstrated how to mount the surfboard. “Just let it happen,” he said. “When you get out there, you’ll know what to do.” I dove into the warm Hawaiian water and saw a perfect wave approaching. It wasn't until I was swimming after my surfboard that I realized I had no idea what I was doing. When I got to Florence, I felt the same way.

A late night at Augie's

When the bars on Marshall Street close down for the night, Augie's Pizza fills up.

It’s Thursday night on Marshall Street, about 1:45 a.m. Last call. And when the beer stops flowing, that drunken hunger starts growing.
