You’ve probably seen the reviews of Super Ball IX already: “Jam band Phish played to a crowd of 30,000 this past weekend" or “Hippies flock to Watkins Glen for weekend music festival.”

But here’s some fresh news you may not have heard: Phish members’ projections from 23 years ago manifest for weekend long phestival, creating a community and experience like no other.

Finding comfort from the sun, three killer sets and a 'Sleeping Monkey' secret jam at 2 a.m.

Super Ball IX, Day Two. Beautiful, sunny, another great day. The afternoon set was easily the most chill set I've heard yet. The night sets were jam packed with massive amounts of energy. And then the secret 2 a.m. set - the most fitting description is undoubtedly "trippy." More of an ambient jam than an actual set, the only song played was, fittingly enough for the wee hours of the morning, "Sleeping Monkey."

With Bonnaroo 2011 now a thing of the past, Lollapalooza 2011 on the way, Coachella 2012 announced (as two identical weekends, no less), Central New York music junkies should probably turn their ears toward Mariaville, N.Y., and Camp Bisco X.

Phish pleases sea of phans

The legendary jam band with Syracuse roots performed Sunday to a sold-out crowd at the War Memorial Arena.

“Are they smoking weed down there?” asked a Syracuse Police Officer on the roof of the OnCenter parking garage. It was probably a rhetorical question.

The Phish fans — or “phans” as they prefer to be called — descended upon downtown Syracuse long before the legendary jam band went on at 8 p.m. Phans sold their tye-dye shirts and homemade jewelry, enjoyed some food and simply hung out before the fourth stop on Phish’s Fall Tour 2009.

Airplane flight 188 misses destination

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is reviewing the cockpit voice recorder after a Northwest airliner overshot its destination by 150 miles on Wednesday.

According to CNN.com the airplane was flying from San Diego, California to Minneapolis, Minnesota carrying 147 passengers.

After the airplane had reached 37,000 feet there was no longer any radio communication between...
