Three SU Remembrance Scholars spent spring break in Lockerbie, Scotland to see how Lockerbie residents remember the Pan Am Flight 103 tragedy.

From March 15-17, we took a trip to Lockerbie, Scotland, the crash site of Pan Am Flight 103.

At Syracuse, the Remembrance program focuses on what Pan Am Flight 103 means to SU most of the time, and sometimes forgets to take into account how the town of Lockerbie was affected by the tragedy, and how its memory affects the town today.

Secretary of State says Gadhafi can be prosecuted, investigation may be done.

Just a week ago, Ghadafi's justice minister resigned and made it public that he had proof that the Lybian president was behind the Pan Am flight 103 terrorist attack, according to The Post-Standard.

Former Libyan minister Abdel-Jalil says dictator Moammar Gadhafi was responsible for ordering the bombing of Pan Am 103.

Recently resigned Libyan justice minister, Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, told Swedish newspaper Expressen that dictator Moammar Gadhafi was responsible for ordering the bombing of Pan Am flight 103. Abdel-Jalil and many other Libyan officials resigned in response to the events happening in Libya, where dictator Moammar Gadhafi has attacked protestors in an attempt to stay in power.

A Remembrance Scholar gets to know the Pan Am Flight 103 victim she represents.

When I became a Remembrance Scholar, I anticipated spending a lot of time in university archives learning about an exceptional, far away person who died too soon. I imagined talking about the Pan Am 103 tragedy with current scholars, and readied myself for many a weepy phone call home to my mom.

All of that came true. But what I didn’t realize before this process began was the connection I would make with the families of the victims of Pan Am 103, the message they would have for us, and how close I would feel to the tragedy, despite the distance.

The ceremony honoring 35 Syracuse University students will be held tonight on the Quad.

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight in remembrance of the 35 Syracuse University students who were among the 270 people who died in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on Dec. 21, 1988, according to SU News.

The SU community honors victims of one of its darkest days during the annual ceremony for the Lockerbie, Scotland, tragedy.

On Dec. 21, 1988, a terrorist bomb exploded on Pan Am Flight 103, claiming the lives of her two sons and 268 others.

Twenty-one years later, members of the Syracuse University community joined together on a sunny Friday afternoon in bittersweet remembrance of the 35 students who died on Pan Am 103 in Lockerbie, Scotland.

Investigators are reviewing the Lockerbie bombing case to see if they overlooked conspirators in the accident.

The Lockerbie bombing of Pan-Am flight 103 is under investigation again in hopes of finding accomplices to the only person convicted. The Pan-Am bombing killed 270 people on December 22, 1998; 35 were Syracuse University students studying in the SU abroad program. Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was freed by Scottish officials in August after health reports showed he was dying of cancer, Syracuse.com reports....

Students gather to honor the victims of Pan Am Flight 103 after the recent release of the Lockerbie bomber.

More than 50 students gathered at the steps of Hendricks Chapel on Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil to remember the students killed on Pan Am Flight 103.

On Dec. 21, 1988, a terrorist bombing on Pan Am Flight 103 caused the plane to explode over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 270 people. Thirty-five of those were students returning from Syracuse University’s study abroad programs.
