The closure of I-81 between I-690 and Court Street is being prolonged by a legal and monetary battles, the Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

The New York State Department of Transportation closed the section of the highway off last friday amid fears that a crumbling building on nearby State Street could fall onto the highway.
