Orange men's lacrosse draws top seed

After a 13-3 overall record, Big East regular season co-championship and conference tournament title, Syracuse will face NEC champ Bryant in the first round of the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament on Sunday, May 12 at the Carrier Dome.

After being crowned co-champions of the final Big East men's lacrosse regular season and cruising to a conference tournament title, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team was rewarded with the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Orange (13-3) will face Northeast Conference champ Bryant (8-10) on Sunday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Cometti, Marasco rally Orange by Rutgers

Seniors Luke Cometti and JoJo Marasco helped the Orange outscore Rutgers, 7-1 in the fourth quarter for a 12-11 victory.

For three and a half quarters, it looked like a classic trap game.

No. 7 Syracuse (9-2, 3-1 Big East) was being outhustled, outmanned and outscored by two-win Rutgers, days after dramatic wins at No. 9 Princeton and over No. 2 Cornell.

Defender Mullins sidelined by knee injury

Syracuse defender Brandon Mullins will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, the men's lacrosse team announced Thursday.

After a season-opening loss to Albany, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team went back to defensive basics in rattling off a two-game win streak over Army and Virginia.

That defense will have to adjust again, barely two weeks later.
