A new San Francisco law requires healthier fast food kids' meals.
San Francisco lawmakers approved Tuesday a new law that will force fast-food chains such as McDonald’s to make their children’s meals healthier, according to The Post-Standard.
The Board of Supervisors voted 8-3 to approve an ordinance that would limit the amount of calories, sodium and fat in each kids' meal. The ordinance also requires servings of fruits or vegetables with each meal.
The health watchdog group wants to stop the popular fast food chain from gearing its advertising toward children. The group says the beloved mascot has too much influence on kids during this "childhood obesity crisis."
