Lebron James returns to Cleveland

The superstar heads back to his home state for the first time since leaving the city to sign with the Miami Heat.

Lebron James made headlines over the summer after announcing on national television that he would be leaving Cleveland to sign with the Miami Heat. James will return to Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena Thursday night for the first time since the star announced his departure from the city. Many fans felt betrayed by James' decision because the Akron-born superstar was expected to deliver Cleveland its first sports championship since 1964.

Miami Heat forward Lebron James sat out from practice today due to a deep bruise in his right shin.

Miami Heat all-star forward Lebron James missed practice Thursday due to a deep bruise in his right shin, according to ESPN.

James suffered the injury on Wednesday night, but fought through it while putting up 20 points and 12 assists against the New Jersey. Although Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra plans to start James on Friday night, the injury did seem to have an affect on James' performance against New Jersey as the all-star recorded his first game without a single rebound since his rookie season.

The much anticipated debut of LeBron James and the Miami Heat does not go as planned as the Heat fall to the Celtics.

The most anticipated regular season NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics did not go as planned for the Miami Heat's "Big Three." LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh were met with countless "overrated" chants by the Boston fans as the Celtics beat the Heat 88-80.  The Heat scored only nine points in the first quarter, missing 30 of its 41 shots, according to ESPN.

Miami's "original" star gets injured early in preseason opener, but Chris Bosh and Lebron James step up Tuesday against the Pistons.

 Basketball fans have been anticipating the start of training camp so they could see the "Big 3" in Miami - Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade.  James and Bosh signed with Heat this offseason, while Wade re-signed with the team.  Months of hype led up to the first preseason game of the Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons.  The "Big 3" took the court and were out there for all of three minutes together before Wade got hurt.

NBA superstar, LeBron James, and his manager said that race was a part of how the media reacted to his decision on joining the Miami Heat.

NBA superstar, LeBron James, says that race was a factor in how the news and media covered his decision to sign with the Miami Heat over the summer, according to ESPN. James made his decision public about which team he would sign with for the upcoming season in an one-hour special on ESPN called "The Decision." The media then openly bashed James in with the way  he handled his free agent situation.

The preseason has begun for LeBron James and the Miami Heat, and it’s finally time for James to get back on the court after being called a quitter, having his competitive nature questioned and hearing others say he made a bad business decision.

"He is a motivated player right now," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said, according to ESPN.com.

A report in today's Syracuse Post-Standard reports that school officials, nurses, and doctors have been warned about the alarming increase of HIV in Onondaga County. Officials were concerned after at least ten new cases of HIV have been diagnosed in Onondaga County since last December.

Local providers are running out of treatments for the seasonal flu because of the increased production of the H1N1 vaccine.

Vaccine providers in Central New York are beginning to ration seasonal flu vaccines because of lack of supplies according to Syracuse.com.  Many manufacturers are focusing more resources on producing the new H1N1 vaccine and devoting fewer resources to the production of the seasonal flu vaccine.
