The United States Secret Service is now facing allegations of misconduct involving a prostitution scandal in Colombia.  Agents were sent to the South American country to provide security for President Barack Obama, but were sent home once these allegations arose.

New England state may be the next to repeal the death penalty as legislation moves onto the House of Representatives

The Connecticut Senate voted Thursday to repeal the death penalty, bringing Connecticut one step closer to joining several other states that recently abolished this capital punishment. 

After ten hours of debate this morning, the Senate approved legislation that would set life imprisonment as the maximum punishment for all future cases, reports NPR. The bill will now move onto the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives where it is expected to pass.

Shiite Muslims take to streets against Sunni government.

Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets Friday and rallied against the current regime. Some chanted anti-government slogans while others held signs, CNN reported. The crowd marched in the town of Sitra on its way to attend funerals for three of the protestors slain on Thursday in the capital.

The Pakistani military has called for a dramatic change in government and maybe even the removal of Pakistan's president after recent deadly floods and a continuing collapsing economy ravage their country.

The Pakistani military is calling for a dramatic change in Pakistani government and perhaps President Asif Ali Zardari's removal from office, according to The New York Times.  The military is angry with the way the country has handled the deadly flood situation and a collapsing economy, although, they have repeatedly said that they have no intention or desire to take over the country because of the ongoing battle against militants and terrorist in the country.
