P&C stores are getting a little more help from its friends.  Price Chopper Supermarkets announced it will buy five of the stores from Tops Friendly Markets. P&C has been in financial trouble since filing for bankruptcy earlier this year, and Tops bought 79 failing P&C stores back in January for $85 million.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says plan is connected to President Obama's strategy regarding American troop levels.

According to the nytimes.com, the Prime Minister of Britain, Gordon Brown announced a plan today where Britain would send 500 more troops to Afghanistan. This means the total of Britain troops in Afghanistan over the span of the eight-year war will be 9,500. 

Brown said that a factor in his decision to send these troops to Afghanistan depends on what President Obama decides to do about American troops.
