For the LBGT communities, this Valentine's Day brings more than just love to celebrate. Lawmakers in Washington and New Jersey passed legislation for same sex-couples to marry on Monday.
Following a recent federal court decision, the Pentagon has advised military recruiters to accept openly gay and lesbian recruit candidates.
The Personnel and Readiness office informed recruiters that applications from openly gay candidates can now be processed, provided they qualify under normal recruiting guidelines. CNN reports that recruiters cannot ask applicants if they are gay.
