Robert Zimmerman Jr. says that the medical records of his brother George will prove it was a self-defense act and not a murder

The polarizing case of Trayvon Martin's killing took another turn today. George Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr. told CNN's Pier Morgan Thursday night that he wanted to dispel some of the myths that have green spread about the highly controversial shooting.

According to CNN Zimmerman said that his brother was only acting in self-defense and that it was Martin who confronted Zimmerman's brother.

According to a CNN poll, a majority of Americans want George Zimmerman arrested

Three out of four Americans believe police should arrest George Zimmerman, the man who admitted to shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, on February 26, according to a CNN survey.  Eleven percent disagreed with the statement and 16 percent were unsure.

The FBI and federal prosecutors begin investigation of killing of Florida teen after 911 tapes are released

Federal prosecutors and the FBI have opened an investigation into the killing of a teen by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Florida.

Authorities released seven 911 calls Friday, in which callers describe hearing a gunshot.

Trayvon Martin, 17, was returning from a store to his father's fiancé's Sanford home Feb. 26 when he was shot.

An apparent murder-suicide occurred Tuesday afternoon at a Florida high school

Police were called to Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Florida after shots were fired on the afternoon of March 6, CBS News reports. Once on the scene, they discovered the bodies of two adults. CNN is reporting that no students were involved.

Syracuse softball ventured to “The Swamp” of Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the University of Florida Lipton Invitational, and the only team gave the girls any trouble was the home team. SU had a successful trip in which it won four out of the five games.

Radio call warns of a possible shooting at a 'random' school, Search still on

A lockdown is lifted after almost 300 schools in Broward County in Florida after a local radio station received a phone call just after 8:30 a.m. from a woman warning officials that her husband was preparing to open fire on one of the schools.

Thousands of students were forced to stay in their school until the threat was eliminated. Officials say they did not want to take any chances.

A 4-day-old died after being attacked by the family's pit bull terrier in Jacksonville, Florida.

A newborn, only four days old, was killed by the family's bit bull terrier this past Sunday evening at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, according to John Harrel, a spokesman with the Florida's Department of Children and Family (DCF). The infant's father told CNN that he and the baby's mother only left the child alone for a few seconds when the attack took place. The incident is under investigation for further information about what exactly happened.

New Jersey car dealer to give new car to Florida pastor Terry Jones for promise to cancel burning of Quran.

According to USA Today, Florida pastor Terry Jones will be receiving a new car for his promise to not burn a Quran.

Brad Benson, a New Jersey car dealer, made the offer to Jones in one of his dealership’s radio ads, which focus more on current events than cars. To Benson’s surprise, a representative for Jones called to collect the 2011 Hyundai Accent.
