New exhibition pairs vintage clothes and furniture.

A new exhibition from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) pairs original Arts and Crafts Movement furnishings, with an emphasis on those designed by Gustav Stickley, with clothing worn by American women during 1909-1913.

The cooler weather has revived the favorite fall accessory.

Gone are the days you can walk out of the house showing off your bare arms and legs. Now that it’s getting chillier and fall is officially here, our new best friend and fashion accessory, the scarf, can come out of hibernation.

A scarf adds that needed “oomph” to someone’s outfit. Boutique employees in Syracuse and Syracuse University students tend to think so too. Some Girls Boutique on Marshall Street has a section just for scarves.

The lingerie maker's new collection brings financial ruin to one addicted blogger.

Last week, Victoria's Secret unveiled its new "Gorgeous" brassiere and fragrance collection, which has since been aggressively promoted on TV and in my email account. In the last month, I've received 19 emails from Victoria's Secret.

Twenty Syracuse University design students showcase collections created during the past school year at then annual VPA Senior Fashion Show.

Seniors from the College of Visual and Preforming Arts showed off their final projects in two fashion shows this year, including a matinee fashion show on April 28 and an evening performance on April 29. The event featured the designs on the 20 female graduating seniors.

Bloggers Travis Gumbs and Joshua Kissi discuss life in the New York City music and fashion business.

The creators behind the highly praised men’s fashion blog “Street Etiquette” were once attacked by two strangers while walking on the street because of the way they were dressed.

“I got my tooth knocked out and I had to get a fake one,” said co-creator Travis Gumbs, laughing. “But I still got my smile, so it’s all good.”

That resilient attitude has been developed through years of facing occasional disparagement for having a strong interest in fashion as two young black men.

Designer Christian Dior plans to fire designer John Galliano after comments about Hitler.

According to CNN, French designer Christian Dior began proceedings to terminate designer John Galliano after Galliano was allegedly filmed praising Adolf Hitler. The comments were reportedly made in a Paris cafe last year.

Galliano said "I love Hitler" in the video and before the video was released, Dior had already suspended Galliano for other anti-Semitic remarks.

Lopez and her two-year-old twins star in Gucci's new children's campaign.

Jennifer Lopez and her two-year-old twins, Emme and Max, will appear in Gucci's latest campaign.  The new line by Gucci will be released in the spring of 2011.  The children's line will include clothes, shoes and accessories for newborns to eight-year-olds.  

According to People Magazine, in return for Lopez's work, Gucci will make a donation to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation.

VPA's Annual Fashion Show puts students' work in the runway spotlight.

A chance to see the next possible Marc Jacobs is at your fingertips. Syracuse University's The School of Visual and Performing Arts is hosting their Annual Fashion Show this week, and the night promises to bring plenty of fabulous fashion, glamour, and buzz.  The School of Art and Design's senior fashion design majors will debut their collections during the two-day event.

Zipped magazine partners with local shops for their new issue.

Zipped magazine is not only fashion savvy, they’ve got business smarts to boot. The SU fashion magazine is strutting into the local Syracuse community one local retailer at a time.

“Partnering with Syracuse stores introduces students to the fashions available locally, which we hope will help strengthen the connection between the students and the city,” says Katy Ann Lyons, the magazine's fashion editor.
