Artist will get the chance to complete his "Over the River" work in Colorado

Federal officials announced Monday they have approved Christo's proposal to suspend miles of fabric over the Arkansas River in Colorado. New York-based artist Christo has been planning and trying to get approval of this project since 1992.

The $50 million project is named "Over the River" and will include eight suspended panel segments. The segments are made of a translucent, silvery fabric than will span 42-miles of the Arkansas River.

Colorado teen collapses from heart condition.

A Colorado teens collapsed during a rugby match Saturday, according to CNN.

17-year-old Matthew Hammerdorfer, of Fort Collins, Colorado died during the game caused by complications from a heart condition. Hammerdorfer was a multi-sport athlete who fell to the field and did not get up. A spokesman from the Poudre Fire Authority said Hammerdorfer had a seizure during their response and later died at a local hospital.

Fifty-four people at a youth hockey tournament in Colorado suffered carbon monoxide poisoning early Monday, according to CNN.

The children, teenagers and adults that suffered exposure were sent to Gunnison Valley Health Hospital. The hospital’s CEO, Randy Phelps, said all of the patients suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Two patients were transported to Denver for further treatment while everyone else was released.

33 are indicted for distributing cocaine weekly

Syracuse.com is reporting that 33 Central New Yorkers were indicted for being part of drug rings that distributed pounds of cocaine on a weekly basis in the Syracuse area. 

Law enforcement agencies from the Central New York area seized $800,000 worth of cocaine.

16 pounds of marijuana, 12 firearms, more than $88,000 in cash and 12 vehicles were also seized...
