Pregnant women with weight problems are more likely to have children born with developmental delays, report says.

A new study says pregnant women who have high blood pressure, are obese or have diabetes are more likely to have children who have autism or other development disorders. 

ABC News reports more than 1,000 children were in the study, conducted by University of California- Davis, and found that the signs of autism and other developmental delays where 60% higher among mothers who were obese, diabetic or suffer from high blood pressure.

Research suggests aggression in students has to do with social status.

Although popular students are more likely to bully other children, ones on top of the social hierarchy are the least aggressive, according to CNN. The study in the journal American Sociological Review also showed that the least popular students are also among the least likely to be bullying.

Congress passes a child nutrition bill that sets new standards for school lunch programs.

According to The New York Times, the House passed the child nutrition bill on Thursday, by a vote of 264 to 157. The bill, which the Senate had passed in August, will now go to President Obama, who plans to sign it.

Michelle Obama, who lobbied for the bill to combat childhood obesity and hunger, is overjoyed with the outcome of yesterday's vote.

Analysis suggests that the No. 1 reason kids get antibiotics is unnecessary.

A new analysis suggests that most children who see a doctor for ear infections don’t need antibiotics, according to an article in USA Today. Ear infections are the No. 1 reason kids get antibiotics, with about 8 million kids seeing a doctor for this illness each year. These antibiotics cost the country $2.8 billion each year.

According to the New York Times, only weeks after birth French woman get offered a state-paid extended course of vaginal gymnastics, free nursery schools, tax deductions and discounts on having children and large families and a minimum of four month maternity leave for mothers to get back in shape.

The defendant is expected to be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

The Blossvale man, Adam Theall pleaded guilty to the murder of his three-month-old son Eithen. Thursday morning.

Theall was tearful during his confession blaming the incident on drugs. According to the Post-Standard. The family of Theall's former girlfriend were present outside the court, and gave Theall no mercy.
